Travel to the beautiful Magaliesburg countryside on a classic old steam train, enjoy a leisurely lunch, explore the village with its arts and crafts shops, and come back to the big city behind steam. (Much to the surprise and the envy of the commuters we usually pass!) The train usually leaves Maraisburg Station at about 8:45am and arrives at Magaliesburg Village at about 10:30am. The Maraisburg station has safe, guarded parking for your vehicle. The train will stop at platform 1 or 2, but these tracks are on either side of a single platform, so you won’t have to scramble across tracks or run across a bridge to board the train. We usually leave Magaliesburg at about 2:30pm and we return home at Maraisburg about 4:30pm. We will get you home in time for supper!

Destination options:

1. You can book a delicious buffet lunch at the Magaliesburg County Hotel

2. We have made arrangements for the use of the extensive Magaliesburg Picnic grounds for the use of passengers who would like to cater for themselves with a picnic basket, or to use the braai facilities that are available.

MINI ZEAL FOR LIFE 4 WEEK FAMILY PROGRAMME

Date: 13 Febuary 2010
Venue: Karoo Café, 141 Lynnwood Road, (Opposite Willow Way Shopping Centre), Pretoria East
Cost:  R1800 per 2 parents, 1 child

Time: 9h30 - 12h30

This programme provides the foundation for sound emotional intelligence. The core principles of a sound EQ are to be aware of your feelings and how they influence your behavior, actively managing your feelings to facilitate better choices, motivating yourself, choosing how you want to be and then giving of your best.
For the foundation programme, the emphasis is on seeing children once a week for 2-3 hours over a period of 4 weeks. What makes this programme unique is that parents are required to participate with their children in the first and last week of the programme.
This ensures that all family members are committed to the programme and are aware of expectations. Extensive groundwork is done in the foundation programme on educating children about the physiology of the brain as this creates understanding of their own thinking patterns and how these influence their actions.
The outcome of this programme is for children to understand the effects of their thinking on their feelings, behavior and consequences. They learn that all feelings are acceptable, but not all behavior is acceptable.

Oh, I absolutely love those zoo-by-night visits. Children find them truly exciting and they give them the opportunity to see another side of zoo and enjoy all the nocturnal species.
